Verified Reviewer |Fuel pump alert
I own a 2019 yamaha X4 when i purchased it an alert came up for a fuel pump issue the dealership told me it was not a recall but if it went in the field they would fix it. I have a cottage in houghton lake michigan and the feul pump went on the trail we dragged it to lake st Hellen power sports in michigan an authorized yamaha dealer.
I showed them the alert and the work was done but when i picked it up they told me Yamaha would not pay they do not allow USA dealerships to work on Canadian machines, stupidist thing I ever heard.
I recieved a bill for 660.00 us dollars that would have been covered in canada. We have thousands of canadians in who ride and have cottages in Michiagan let alone new york, ohio and on and on i know that they are not aware of Yamaha policies let alone the snowmobilers. I had a polaris RZR before and warranty work was done on it for a heat shield in Houghton Lake.
I would like an answer from yamaha for its ridiculous policy that robbed me of 900 canadian dollars for a fuel pump that had i known was not covered in the usa would brought it home to do the work in canada which is stupid, or bought an aftermarket fuel pump for 200 and done it in my garage.l wait for a reply before I use the atv & snowmobliers socils media site in michigan to get the word started

Verified ReviewerMissleading warranty on drive belts
Yamaha advertises a 10 year warranty on their drive belts. Recently the belt on my 2019 X2 Wolverine broke.
I went to my local dealer to have them replace the ruined belt, knowing about the warranty. The dealership advised me that there was nothing wrong with the clutch system, it was a defective belt. This was submitted to Yamaha. Their response was there was never any preventative maintenance done on clutch.
The owner's Manuel does not say anything about this type of maintenance. Also, it's a three-hour job just to get at the clutch, this would have to be done at a dealership at 120.00 p/h. Not reasonable expectations. Well done, Yamaha, just another example of hollow promises from big companies.
Anything for the sale.

Nobody there and their email form cannot be completed unless I put a proper hyphen between my Tel number and area code but they’re system has numbers and no hyphen available to use . Very upsetting
I know they are not there Sat but but I wish to leave a message for them to respond to Monday morning but the message Center will not accept my email unless I supply my cell number and their system to input the cell number must have a hyphen between the area code but the system they have .. has no hyphen available and so it will not accept my email message .
This is just plain dumb . I will call them Monday to discuss . My rear shock *** out in my 2008 Venture and I cannot find a replacement anywhere in Canada . After hours and hours of looking this is a common fault of that shock and comments say that sometimes Yamaha will replace the shock no charge .
I can install myself and as Im 69 and retired money is tight . I cannot even find a used one in Canada and a new one is way out of my price bracket . I love the bike but if I cannot fix it then I will have to sell and go a different direction . This is my 2 nd Venture but if I cant afford it then I will try a different brand .
Dam .. and I love the bike .
Im in the CMC a the biggest Motorcycle club in Canada . I dont want to post negative info about Yamaha but Dam Im mad !
User's recommendation: Try to contact them first before complaining

Verified Reviewer |No warranty coverage
"No warranty Yamaha "
As I keep digging into this I am passing info incase your next.
Apparently Yamaha has a class action lawsuit in the USA at the present.
The aluminum blocks have been popping like corks the blocks are fractureing internal most can only be detected by pressure testing. Yamaha tried pinning this on bad winterizing then said water intake all a bunch of *** to get out of an engines brand new warranty also because they have no parts forcing you to pay for a new engine as I just did. Week #4 and still not a return phone call. I am not turning this into a merc or Yamaha thing. This is just *** poor customer service at its worst. I bought a new engine and now I bought another one to be able to fish this year. I have the old engine in on a tear down to further my warranty denied so I can go after Yamaha and find out how to join the class action law suits stay away
Preferred solution: A new engine

Refund on an unopened electrical part
I perchance a pickup coil for my Yamaha roadstar on friday April 29th. Saturday the 30th I realized I didn't need this part and called them back as soon as they opened up on May the 2nd, explained this to the dealer.
There responce was they have a no return policy on electrical parts and it made clear on the bill. No I had a friend pick this up so I had no idea of this policy as when I ordered it they had said nothing to me about this return policy. I then called Yamaha canada explained the issue and received the same lame answere. This part was not even taken out of the package nor opened at all.
Nicole Buglisi was my contact at Yamaha canada and was not very helpful at all. All she keep saying was I'm sorry. They are sorry that they are ripping the consumer of as there is absolutely no reason that they should have this type of policy on products that are not opened at all. Had I even opened it that might of been different as they would think that you tryed to use it.
I find this to be a very bad practice for any company to be able to act on.
In my opion it's nothing short of a big companies abilities to not honor a return and take the money and run. You can buy a helmet and return it oil and return it and so on what makes an electrical part so different than any other part.Buyer beware, pay close attention to the sellers policy and if need be buy somewere else we're they stand behind there products
Preferred solution: Full refund

Unfortunately that is standard in just about every marine, powersport, or automobile industry. Electrical parts can easily be damaged by static discharge, or another defective part in the unit you're installing it on, which can't be detected until it fails on the next consumer. Electrical parts are seldom something you can return anywhere!
